When creating or scanning a Snapshot Disk, PHOTOV recognizes works folders, sessions, rolls, and media buckets from habit folder names. This page only lists supported naming dimensions—no algorithm detail.

Habit naming · supported dimensions
Scan and recognition use the dimensions below for disks, seasons, sessions, and rolls—one line each; details follow in-app behavior per release.
- Author prefix (leading token of works / session names)
- Author aliases (e.g. BISFIG → biscutr)
- Four-digit year YYYY (folder / package names)
- Two-digit year YY (season roots / folder names)
- Season token S+NN (e.g. 25S01, 2024S03)
- Quarter token q+N
- Date YYMMDD (common in session names)
- Date YYMM / YY_MMDD
- Serial R+NN (legacy whole-session index in names)
- Roll folders rollNN / rNN / rollNNpN
- Roll marks R+NN / R+NN+s (embedded in session names)
- Single-letter session marks (e.g. _x_)
- Suffix (person / theme trailing tokens)
- No-roll session · direct JPG-IDX (ROLL ORIGIN)
- Stills bucket JPG / JPEG / JPG-IDX
- RAW buckets RAW / CR2 / CR3 / DNG… and *-IDX
- Video buckets MOV / MP4… and *-IDX
- Scan / film-style buckets (scan, etc.)
- Package-name years & multi-year disks (PIM2018, Y22Y21, …25S…)
- Person folders _model_ / _type_name_ / PersonMarkers
- Selection-branch names sel_*
- Camera-import cards (e.g. 100CANON, wrapped into parent)
- Cover / notes / dot folders (implicit skip)
- Heuristic works folders (no name match but rich JPG+RAW)
- Pure-video rolls promoted as openable groups
- Environment / resource subfolders (not default stills entry)
- Name-parsed dates + YearDistribution + EXIF year fill
